I have attended CCCC for the past 16+ years. While there I have learned about new theories and ideas in the field and new technologies for writing classrooms. I have implemented many new technologies in my online courses.
CCCC Sessions
o In addition to attending the National TYCA Executive Committee meeting at NCTE and CCCC, I attended sessions to further my professional development. At CCCC 2010 the sessions that had the most impact on my teaching were Jeff Sommers’ panel on audio comments for student drafts of their writing (with Brittany as one of the panelists) and also Nancy Sommers and Chris Anson’s session on videos of students talking about the value of audio comments for them as they revise their drafts.
o I also attended Jeff Andelora’s session on developing a course for part-time faculty to teach them composition theory and pedagogy. I see possibilities for our department in developing such a course.
At CCCC 2012 I will be a facilitator at a featured session with Shelley Rodrigo entitled "Cross-Generational
Connections among Retired Faculty, Retiring Faculty, and the Emergent
Professoriate: Beginning a Conversation."Click here for acceptance email.
